Matlala Setlhalogile

Matlala Setlhalogile is a Political Economist specialising in Political Risk Analysis and Public Policy Analysis. He has been part of policy advisory work for government such as developing the SMME Internationalisation Strategy for the Department of Small Business Development (DSBD), and being a researcher on the work on illicit financial flows (transparency in beneficial ownership) for the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA).

Matlala has also been part of various projects focusing on South Africa's political economy; Governance in State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs); the assessment of South Africa’s policy and regulatory frameworks; and Political Risk Analysis for entities in the Financial Services Sector, Extractive Industries, and Telecommunications. He previously taught Politics modules at the University of Johannesburg. Matlala holds an MA Politics (Cum Laude) from the University of Johannesburg.
